St. Louis University High School is seeking applications for the position of:

 

                                                BOYS VARSITY LACROSSE COACH

 

 

St. Louis University High is a Jesuit Catholic, college preparatory school with an enrollment of

1,050 male students. SLUH has a long and successful history with the sport of Lacrosse and are currently the reigning 2009 Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association Division One Champions.

 

The qualified candidate must have completed sixty hours of undergraduate course work, college degree is preferred. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of the sport of lacrosse and a coaching history that demonstrates the successful implementation of coaching Lacrosse. The preferred candidate also has a history of involvement with Catholic education and/or coaching in Catholic schools. Knowledge of Jesuit philosophy and education and a strong faith based spiritual background preferred. Keen awareness of sportsmanship in the framework of competition is a must. Completion of “Protecting God’s Children” workshop from the Archdiocese of St. Louis is also a pre-requisite. Skills preferred include experience coaching high school aged children, strong organizational skills, flexible schedule to accomodate practice/game times, strong communication skills.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: supervision of the entire lacrosse program, coaching the varsity team, supervision of coaching staff, scheduling for varsity, junior varsity and freshmen, compliance with general MSHSAA guidelines, compliance SLUH athletic and academic guidelines.

 

This position is a year by year contract.
